FAQ
Q: Why have our prices increased?
A: As we continue to grow, we’ve updated our pricing to more accurately reflect the true cost of making each piece. Over the past year, the cost of materials, production, and local manufacturing has increased significantly — from leather and hardware to labour, packing, and logistics.
Alongside these changes, we’ve also made intentional product improvements. We’ve upgraded our hardware, including our O-rings and Chicago screws, to stronger, more secure components designed to better withstand daily use. These improvements come at a higher production cost, but they allow us to make bags that last longer and perform better over time.
This adjustment helps us continue producing in small batches, using premium leathers and improved hardware, while maintaining the level of craftsmanship and care each piece requires.
Q: What leathers do you use, and how do they differ?
A: We work with a range of premium leathers, selected based on the character and purpose of each design:
-
Full grain leather is the highest grade available. It’s strong, durable, and develops a natural patina over time.
-
Top grain leather is lightly refined for a smoother, more uniform finish while remaining durable and supple.
-
Cow suede is a fine, soft suede with a supple texture, chosen for its warmth and tactile quality.
-
Cowhide pieces are cut from a single hide and yield approximately one to two bags, making each piece naturally one of a kind.
Each bag includes a full grain leather strap and is designed to age beautifully with use.
Q: What kind of vinyl do you use for your bags?
A: We use upholstery-grade vinyl that’s designed for durability and everyday use. It’s chosen specifically for its strength, structure, and longevity, while still maintaining a soft hand feel. This is the same grade of material used in furniture and interiors, which means it’s made to handle wear over time.
Q: Why are quantities limited?
A: We produce in small batches to maintain quality, manage materials responsibly, and ensure each piece receives the time and attention it deserves. Limited quantities also allow us to offer more frequent releases rather than large, infrequent launches.
Q: Can I cancel a pre-order?
A: If you need to cancel a pre-order, please email us as soon as possible. Once production has begun, cancellations may not be possible, but we’re always happy to talk through options.
Q: How do pre-orders work?
A: Pre-orders allow us to produce intentionally and reduce excess waste.
-
Pre-order timelines are currently 3.5–4 weeks unless otherwise stated.
-
Pre-orders are open for 24 hours or until sold out, whichever comes first.
-
During this time, your bag is made specifically for you.
-
Once production is complete, you’ll receive shipping confirmation and tracking details.
We share updates throughout the process so you’re always informed.
Q: Will there still be ready-to-ship items?
A: Yes! Moving forward, we’ll be offering more frequent drops throughout the month, including:
-
Ready-to-ship (RTS) pieces, available in limited quantities
-
Pre-order drops, produced in small batches with shorter timelines
Each drop may include a mix of both, depending on material availability and production scheduling.
Q: What is leather patina, and should I expect my bag to change over time?
A: Patina is the natural change that occurs as leather ages and is used. Over time, exposure to light, air, and natural oils from handling can cause the leather to soften, deepen in colour, and develop subtle variations. This process is most noticeable in full grain leather, which is left largely untreated so it can age naturally.
These changes are not flaws — they’re part of what makes each bag unique. No two pieces will age the same, and patina is often valued as a sign of quality and longevity.
Top grain leather may show patina more subtly, while suede and cowhide will change in their own ways depending on use and care. We design our bags with this evolution in mind, choosing materials that are meant to be worn, lived with, and enjoyed over time.
Q: Do you offer guides or how-to videos for your bags?
A: Yes! We’ve created a series of how-to videos that walk through how to use, adjust, customize your pieces. These videos cover things like strap adjustments, hardware use, repairs at home and customization options.
All how-to videos are shared on Substack and are always linked in our bio for easy access. We’ll continue adding to this library as we introduce new designs and updates.
Q: Where can I find information about launches and restocks?
A: We share launch and restock information across a few key channels to make sure our community is well informed ahead of time.
-
Instagram is where we post updates leading up to each launch, including dates, timing, and previews.
-
Email is where we send the most detailed information, including early access, reminders, and direct links.
-
Our website will always reflect the most up-to-date availability once a launch or restock goes live.
Because our releases are often limited and produced in small batches, we recommend following us on Instagram and signing up for emails to stay in the loop.
Q: Will the new clasps be available to purchase separately?
A: Yes! We’re currently thinking through the best way to offer them. The clasps are strong and tested, so the main consideration now is whether they’ll be available first to customers who’ve already purchased a bag, or offered more broadly. We want to make sure the process feels fair and manageable, and we’ll share details once we’ve landed on the best approach.
Q: What if I keep missing the drops?
A: We hear you, and that’s exactly why we’ve changed how we release bags. Moving forward, we’ll be doing more frequent drops with lower quantities per release. This helps us produce more consistently, reduce wait times (pre-orders will now ship in approximately 3–4 weeks), and offer ready-to-ship pieces alongside pre-orders. If you’ve missed out before, there will be more opportunities coming much more regularly.
